Here's an interesting one as Mindful Motion Yoga is not a studio I have heard of. I have contacted the owner, Terri Morrison, to find out more information and will be sure to post details, as this could be a great new addition to the studios in town. This area (ICW/UNF) is lacking in yoga options and I know we would all love to save gas!

Radiant Child Teacher Training & Children's Yoga
The following is from Melissa Johnson, owner & director of Yoga Ananda Yoga & Wellness Center in Avondale. I am just the messenger! All replies to this announcement should be directed to: Victoria@YogaAnandaStudio.com.
Dear Yoga Family:
Do you need a light-hearted, fun, spiritual yoga experience? Are you interested in giving the gift of yoga to children? This course is perfect for you! And it is coming to FL!
RADIANT CHILD YOGA PROGRAM LEVELS I (flyer attached) will be held at our center May 23rd – 24th. This certificate training program is for school teachers, parents, therapists, day-care workers, yoga teachers, and others interested in learning to GIVE CHILDREN THE GIFT OF YOGA. This program has counted towards PUBLIC SCHOOL CEU’S and also can be applied to continuing education for the Yoga Alliance.
This program was created by Shakta Kaur Khalsa, famous yoga teacher and author (Fly Like Butterfly), and former Montessori school teacher. She ran a Montessori school in Baltimore, MD, and the program grew out of that school, and now over 3,000 people around the world are trained in the tools and techniques of yoga for children. We have found that yoga helps kids focus, relax, builds confidence, and integrates both hemispheres of the brain. It is the only non-competitive physical activity many children do, and in that context teaches them self-respect, respect for each other, how to think intuitively and how to relax.
The course will include special sections on how to incorporate yoga into the classroom, and how to use yoga to support children with special needs, like DSI. ADD, ADHD, etc. Saturday afternoon includes a Kids Yoga class (flyer attached) for children and their parents from 3PM – 4PM at a special discounted rate of $8/child!
Could you please share this information with your friends, clients, teachers and any parents who may want to attend, or bring their children to class to experience yoga's benefits? We greatly appreciate your support.
Location: Yoga Ananda Studio, 4150 & 4154 Herschel Street, Jacksonville, 32210
Level 1: Fri 5/23 time: 5pm-9pm, Sat 5/24 time: 12pm-6pm.
Facilitator: Cristin Tighe (Simran Kaur) of Spiral Flight Yoga, Washington, DC
Tuition: $200 if enrolled by 5/16 or $225 if enrolled after 5/16
Please feel free to pass along this information to anyone who might find it useful.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Shakta Kaur Khalsa, creator of the Radiant Child Yoga Program has just informed us that the RCYP program will undergo some major changes in 2008. It will no longer be offered as Level 1 and 2, but rather as a Complete Weekend Course. As a result the course price will increase substantially.
Hence it is a unique opportunity to take advantage of October 2007 Training, as it is one of the last courses being offered this year. The price for RCYP Levels 1 & 2 is usually $475, which significantly lower than other similar Children’s Yoga training courses.

What is Kundalini Yoga? Kundalini Yoga, the Yoga of Awareness, was brought to the West by Yogi Bhajan in 1968. Yogi Bhajan taught that, through the practice of Kundalini Yoga and meditation, your glandular and nervous systems are stimulated, and your capacity for creative potential is heightened. You gain inner vitality to compensate for the adverse effects of stress so you can excel in life. Find more information about Kundalini Yoga in this article.
"Kundalini yoga classes are a dynamic blend of postures, pranayam, mantra, music and meditation, which teach you the art of relaxation, self-healing and elevation. Balancing body and mind enables you to experience the clarity and beauty of your soul. No previous experience in yoga is required for you to achieve results with your very first class. Men of great knowledge actually found out about the chakras – their workings, their petals, their sounds, their infinity, their co-relationship, their powers. They found that the life of a human is totally based on these chakras. This total science gave birth to Kundalini Yoga."

Satsang Across America
If you are a satsang devotee, here is an interesting event being planned for a North America-wide non-stop chanting of the Maha Mantra for a period of 24 hours (known as the Vishnu Sahasranama). The Hindu Society of Northeast Florida is hosting a Florida Satsang in preparation.
A new organization is starting this year to coordinate the Vishnu Sahasranama chanting across US and Canada in one Satsang. In this respect, please see the attachment for the details of the Akhanda Vishnu Sahasranama (AVS) Organization and the planned satsang across US and Canada on Saturday morning, October 4, 2008.
To prepare for the annual AVS event, we planned to have a Florida Satsang of 1008 Vishnu Sahasranamams on June 14, 2008, Saturday at 10:30AM. For this, your group will assemble at your temple or community hall. This will help us to understand the communication and coordination problems between different groups in different temples and cities in Florida. Further, for the first time, we will find the
number of people across Florida who is interested in the Vishnu Sahasranama satsang.
If you are interested in either participating or co-ordinating this event, please send an email to vpworship_hsnef@yahoo.com or please call 472-9892 ASAP as we need to provide a headcount.
What's Your Dosha?
According to Ayurvedic principles, there are three dosha types: kapha, pitta, and vata. The doshas correspond to the elements. Vata is air, pitta is fire and water, and kapha is earth and water. Most of us are dominated by 1 or (more often) 2 doshas though the ultimate goal is to balance all three in perfect harmony through lifestyle choices such as diet, exercise, and meditation. To find out what your dosha type is, here is a fun little quiz offered by the Ayurveda Health Retreat in Alachua, Florida, a cute little town about 10 miles north of Gainesville. (I'm a pitta by the way with a little bit of vata thrown in.)
