225 HR Ashtanga/Power Vinyasa Teacher Training

225 Hr. Ashtanga/Power Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training Program 2007/2008
Registered Yoga School, RYS 200

Program Overview/Mission
The Yoga Life 225 Hr. Ashtanga/Power Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training Program is a comprehensive, in-depth exploration of yoga's practical, spiritual, theoretical and historical methods. While delving into the whole of yogic science, this program will focus on the Ashtanga Yoga in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharaya and how the Ashtanga tradition has affected the invention of vinyasa flow or "vinyasa karma". The dual certification allows students to choose to either be certified in Ashtanga or Vinyasa Flow Yoga Methods. Both aspects will be covered in great detail during the training and the student can choose their focus.

Ashtanga focused students will learn how to teach led primary series classes and vinyasa flow students will learn how to develop mature asana sequencing as well as how to construct a full spectrum teaching approach that combines asana, pranayama, meditation and chanting.

Students will receive additional training from specialty faculty in Anatomy, Ayurveda Medicine and the art of Kirtan. Students will be expected to observe and assist weekly Yoga Life classes, in addition to attending asana classes 5-6 days/week. Preliminary reading assignments before training commences and students should be prepared to write reports on requested topics. Several written and oral exams will be given during the course of this training. Through this rigorous course of study we hope to offer you the tools to teach this dynamic spiritual tradition in a mature, educated, inspired, and passionate light.
