Back to School Doesn't Mean Back to Stress: Awareness and Yoga Practice for a Healthier You!
Teen Workshop Saturday, August 30, 9a.m. - 3p.m.
$80 lunch provided

The beginning of the school year is a great time to bring compassionate acceptance into your life. Sometimes pressure from school can make us feel down on ourselves, but there are tools you can use to have the best school year - and life! - that you can possibly have! In this workshop, we will use simple awareness exercises and yoga to help us recognize how we deal with everyday pressures and, more importantly, how not to let them get you down.

Getting Off the Treadmill: Living Your Life with Compassionate Awareness
Adult workshop: Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1, 9:00a.m. - noon

Most people live their life as if on a treadmill that never stops and never arrives anywhere. Learning how to sit down, pay attention, and know how that treadmill runs your life is the best gift you can give yourself and your loved ones. Through awareness exercises, silence, and facilitated discussion, this workshop will give you the basic tools for living mindfully. You can reclaim your time, your schedule, and your life.

Please register early. Class size is limited.

Therapeutic Applications in Yoga & Meditation

AHYMSA (Alliance of Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Science and Applications) in collaboration with HSNEF (Hindu Society of Northeast Florida) is offering continuous classes in "Therapeutic Applications in Yoga and Meditation" from the series of Steps to Advanced Meditation.

These classes are progressively deepening in both theory and practical application in ancient systems of Himalayan Astanga Yoga (also known as Vaidik yoga, Rishi Yoga or Gyana-Vijnana Yoga) The expected outcome is a deeper awareness related to health and rejuvenation and longevity and a program for self awareness, self transformation towards self-realization.

As a matter of progression, each lesson builds on the previous lesson. Mastery of simpler exercises enables the student to move to deeper, more inclusive techniques and leaving off simpler ones (the training wheels in a sense).

These classes are taught by Yogarishi Deolal Mahabir, qualified master of yoga and meditation who has been practicing and studying yoga and meditation since childhood and began teaching yoga in 1972 at the age of 12. He had not known a life outside of yoga. He studied under Dr. Swami Gitananda for 12 years before being initiated into the Himalayan tradition by Dr. Sri Swami Rama of the Himalayas of whom he is a direct disciple.

He is an accomplished meditator, a yoga therapist and yoga psychotherapist practicing both Eastern and Oriental systems of medicine and western traditional therapies. As a practitioner, therapist and teacher Yogarishi has treated many pre-diagnosed and undiagnosed conditions by yogic methods. He is the developer of "Micromovement Rejuvenation Exercises" and creator of "Yoga Neuro-reflexology," both of which anyone at any level can learn and administer to themselves.

There are several levels in this series. The course material in these classes and additional training in the Himalayan Yoga tradition can be used by students and professional medical practitioners, counselors and therapists in a professional manner, who can use it in their professional practice. Students may wish to study further and become certified instructors and counselors; that can be facilitated.

More information is available at www.mindexplorer.com on Yoga Teachers Training, Meditation Teachers Training, and Yoga Neuro-Reflexology.

Current classes are being held at the Hindu Society of Northeast Florida (HSNEF) on Tuesday nights, 7:15 to 8:30 pm.

The next session series class shall be on September 16th . Registrations are currently being accepted for the same.
